Wonderful interview, Julie. I like the title of your blog better in German than in English. I was surprised you started doing genealogy when you were pregnant with your first child. I can imagine it is not easy to juggle family life, family history, and your blog. So far, I have not found ancestors who were from Austria. I didn’t realize you write your blog in English as well. WOW!

Thank you so much! Pregnancy, family and genealogy are topics which are all somehow related, so that was an easy choice of interest 😉. I started my blog only some months ago, I could not have done that with a baby, to be honest (my little one is already three now). The decision to also write in English was driven by the much bigger genealogy blogging community in English speaking countries. In Germany/Austria there are – as far as I know – not so many. I have ancestors who emigrated to the US and UK, so I thought, there might be English-speaking genealogists out there who have Austrian ancestors and are interested in Austrian research!
By the way, I really enjoy reading your blog, as it gives great stories about your ancestors and I can see your thorough research which is inspiring!

Since I read German I usually don’t pay attention to whether a blog has a translation or translator.
Thank you so much for the compliment on my blog. Thank you for reading it.

Julie, the link is missing to the interview. You can delete this when you’ve fixed it. I’ll be back to comment on the interview after I read it.

Cathy, thank you very much for your comment. For me, the link is working, but probably hidden too much in the last paragraph. I have included another link below the image and hope it works!
